Dominican Republic is the major producer of cacao organic Worldwide, and a leading exporter of convencional cacao: ranked 3rd in America and 8th in the World.

Rizek Cacao is the leading company in highqualy cacao production and export in the Dominican Republic. It exports to United States, Spain, Italy, France, Japan among others.

After periodic visits of our clients, executives at Rizek Cacao, decided to create El Sendero del Cacao with the objective of promoting the culture of cacao as well as furthering knowledge about properties, advantages, atributes and functions of said products.

Visitors can go deep into the paths of organic cacao production at Hacienda La Esmeralda, of 39.9 hectares, and learn each of its stops, from how to plant cacao trees, to harvesting, cutting¿ grain extraction, fermentation and drying, and participate in the process of chocolate making in our factory.
